Experts warn that dengue may spread if tangible steps are not taken right away.

 FAISALABAD, Experts have warned of rising toll of dengue disease in the years if tangible steps and social mobilization were not ensured immediately by keeping climate changes in view.

 They were speaking at a seminar on Friday at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) titled "Advancement in Mosquito Management: From Past Strategies to Future Innovations." They stated that the country has as many as 20,000 dengue cases annually, which raised serious concerns. They said that all stakeholders should discuss strategies for controlling mosquitos and combating dengue on urgent basis.

 Speaking on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor called for collaborative efforts in order to control vector as vector borne disease toll was on the rise.

 He urged the general public to implement the scientific strategies that have been recommended by experts for reducing the number of mosquitoes and preventing outbreaks. He stated that Green Pakistan and Clean and Green Punjab are the most significant initiatives that will effect change. Chairman Department of Entomology UAF underscored the critical role of entomologists in mosquito management across Punjab.

 He stated that dengue affected more than 8000 individuals in Punjab last year. To prevent the spread of dengue, the surrounding will have to be kept clean so that the public can be protected from diseases, he added.

 District Health Officer Dr Azmat said all possible measurer were being taken to control dengue.  He emphasized the significance of incorporating cutting-edge technology, ongoing monitoring, and public participation in long-term dengue control initiatives. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Health Authority Dr Asfandyar said possible steps are being taken to control dengue.  He provided a plan for dealing with dengue fever. He also called for creating awareness among them for minimizing the population of dengue.

 Dr.  According to Shahid Majeed, climate change is affecting agriculture as well as the spread of diseases. He added that it is crucial to communicate the recommendations of experts to the general public so that they can take preventative and protective measures on their own while keeping climate change in mind.
